Check-Up

Why we should visit the dentist for a check-up

In addition to daily oral hygiene, we need to visit our dentist regularly in order to keep our teeth healthy and our smile bright. Dentists usually recommend two visits per year for the preventive check-up of both teeth and gums. Frequency depends on the needs of each patient.
A preventive check-up protects us against two common problems:
  • Gingivitis
  • Dental Caries
These types of damage can be identified when located in visible areas. However, when the damage isn’t obvious, it can develop into advanced decay leading to periodontitis or damage to the dental pulp (root) and resulting in pain, swelling and even tooth loss. Regular dental check-ups save us time, trouble and money.
